The Allen-Bradley 1761-NET-AIC, commonly known as the AIC+ Advanced Interface Converter, provides essential protocol bridging for legacy industrial networks. This device primarily links DF1-compatible hardware to DH-485 communication lines. It establishes a reliable connection between MicroLogix controllers and SLC 500 processors. Additionally, the 1761-NET-AIC supports ASCII isolation for peripheral devices like barcode scanners or printers. Users can power the unit through an external 24V DC source. Alternatively, the communication cable can provide power directly from the MicroLogix controller. A dedicated selector switch manages these different power input modes.

The AIC+ adaptor supports complex network topologies including point-to-point and multi-drop configurations. It integrates perfectly with SLC 5/01, 5/02, and 5/03 processors via their native ports. Moreover, it allows MicroLogix 1000, 1200, and 1500 units to participate in DH-485 networking. The module also bridges communications for Logix-based systems using the 1756-DH485 interface.
