The Bachmann AIO288 is a versatile 16-channel analog I/O module for the M1 controller. Featuring 14-bit resolution, 8 inputs, 8 outputs, and 4 temperature channels, it provides high-speed (200µs) signal processing and integrated potentiometer power for demanding industrial and energy applications.

The Bachmann AIO288 is a high-density, multi-functional analog interface designed for the M1 automation system. By integrating eight input and eight output channels into a single module, it provides a space-efficient solution for complex control loops. To ensure maximum flexibility, the unit supports a wide range of signal types, including standard voltage/current signals and direct temperature measurement. Because it handles both inputs and outputs, the AIO288 serves as a central hub for process feedback and actuator control, making it ideal for renewable energy, maritime, and industrial machine control applications.

- Maximizes Signal Versatility: The module supports voltage (±10V, ±1V) and current (0–20mA) signals. Furthermore, it includes dedicated inputs for up to four Pt100/Pt1000 sensors. As a result, you can monitor process temperatures and pressure sensors through a single hardware interface.
- Integrates Auxiliary Power: The AIO288 provides an onboard power supply for up to four potentiometers. In doing so, it eliminates the need for external reference voltage sources when interfacing with manual setpoint devices or position sensors.
- Ensures High Precision: With a 14-bit digital resolution and a fast 200 µs sampling time, the module captures rapid process fluctuations with high accuracy. Consequently, it is perfectly suited for high-speed motion control and precision regulation tasks.
- Protects Against Field Faults: The hardware features comprehensive diagnostics, including wire break detection for voltage and temperature inputs. Additionally, the outputs are short-circuit proof and include overload detection. Therefore, the module protects both itself and the connected field devices from electrical damage.
- Adapts to Harsh Environments: Because it is available in a “ColdClimate” (CC) version, the AIO288 operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -30 °C to +60 °C. This resilience makes it a standard choice for wind turbine nacelles and offshore installations.
