The Triconex AI 3351S2 serves as a high-integrity Analog Input Module within the Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) Tricon system. This module utilizes three independent sensing channels to monitor field signals, ensuring that the safety system maintains precise control even if a hardware fault occurs. By sampling analog data asynchronously, each channel stores its specific measurements in isolated memory tables, which the module then broadcasts to the Main Processors (MPs) via redundant I/O buses.

To ensure data accuracy, the Main Processors execute a mid-value selection algorithm across the TriBus network, effectively filtering out any signal noise or channel deviations.
