By providing this seamless expansion capability, the processor allows for the integration of thousands of I/O points while maintaining the strict timing requirements of a SIL 3 safety-instrumented system.
Operational Logic and Data Synchronization
The T8300 manages the bi-directional flow of data between the main processor chassis and the expander rack’s I/O modules. To ensure maximum reliability, the module utilizes a specialized Expander Interface (EI) protocol that incorporates rigorous error-checking and fault-detection algorithms.
