Triconex 3703E Isolated Analog Input Module

The Triconex 3703E is a 16-channel isolated TMR analog input module engineered for safety-critical 0-5V or 0-10V signals. Featuring 1500VDC isolation and advanced self-diagnostics, it ensures maximum reliability for industrial ESD and Fire & Gas systems.

Product Description

The Triconex 3703E operates as a high-performance, isolated analog input module within the Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) Tricon controller family. This module manages 16 independent input channels, specifically designed to interface with 0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC signals. By utilizing a fully redundant architecture, the 3703E ensures that the safety system continues to monitor critical process variables even if a hardware failure occurs within one of the processing branches.

Internally, the module employs three separate input legs that asynchronously sample each field signal. These legs convert analog data into digital values and transmit them to the Main Processors (MPs) via the proprietary I/O bus. The system then performs a mid-value selection to validate the data, effectively filtering out any discrepancies or noise. Furthermore, the 3703E provides 1500 VDC of galvanic isolation, which shields the controller’s internal logic from electrical surges and ground loops originating in the field.

Consequently, the 3703E serves as a cornerstone for high-integrity Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). It incorporates sophisticated self-test routines that detect stuck-at faults and calibration drift within 500 milliseconds. Because the module maintains its own internal calibration, it significantly reduces the need for manual field adjustments. This combination of speed, accuracy, and fault tolerance makes the 3703E an ideal choice for critical applications in the oil and gas, chemical, and nuclear power industries.
